well i went for np300 e 5z - so7in ..the same way with out a second thought ...guess what this shit has broken down in initial 2 months ...dvd writer is not being detected and the display hinges {fold lock is broken from inside } The first problem came to my notice after 1& half month of purchase and hence they denied me complete replacement ... While hectic argument i had to settle for part replacement, upon receipt of this rectified part i came to notice a taper in display and keyboard (main body ) hinge gap. Out of curiosity i asked the technician , after checking he confirmed its a broken fold lock inside which no customer can identify at the time of purchase ... Again i took this with the customer care and even wrote to their head office.But no use they just went on transferring the call from one place to other and finally they give me an option of replacing the rectified part . But after all this trauma i wanted a complete replacement as it was only 2 months from the date of purchase . Now when i threatened to take this matter up with consumer court they changed the their tactics and accused me of deliberately damaging the product.And they even went on to say my warranty will be void. Due to my time constraint and the bloody democratic and judicial system we r having i was forced to accept their earlier offer and still suffering the frustration of buying this samsung product . There is not much diff between so7in and so8in its just that so8in has caps lock and former doesn't. Better dont go for samusung ..go for acer or thoshiba if u r money quotient as it gives 3 year warranty and if u have money go for dell,hp.sony or lenovo all are good but no samsung..it sucks big time..... "DON'T FALL FOR THE CONFIGURATION "
